'Cats Topped 2-0 by La Salle

DAVIDSON - The Davidson women's soccer team trailed La Salle 2-0 at the halftime break and was unable to recover during its road match Thursday in Philadelphia.
The loss puts the Wildcats overall record at 4-5-2 and their record becomes 0-3 in the Atlantic 10.
An early 14th minute goal by Haley Gschrey gave the Explorers an edge before they tacked on an insurance goal with just 47 seconds left on the first half clock off the foot of Alexis Garcia.
La Salle maintained its momentum throughout the second half, keeping the ball in its offensive third for the majority of the contest and taking 11 shots to Davidson's five. Despite the 'Cats best efforts and two second half shots on goal, the Explorers would never relinquish their lead on the way to their first A-10 win.
Davidson goalkeeper Emith Smith made an impressive nine saves over 90 minutes of action.
On offense, Olivia Bestic, Kialie Hudson and Brooke Roumy complied the Wildcats three shots on goal.

Davison will continue its pursuit of its first league win when it welcomes Saint Joesph's to Alumni Stadium 1 p.m. Sunday.
