Men's Track & Field Competes at Charlotte Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Davidson College men's track and field team competed at their final meet of the regular season on Friday and Saturday at the Charlotte Invite.

Thirteen Wildcats made the short trip to UNC Charlotte with six turning in personal-best performances along with six top-ten finishes.

Ryan Harris got the weekend going on Friday evening by running his fastest time in the 800-meters. Harris ran a 1:53.38 in the invite-only heat.

On Saturday, Isaac Bynum ran a season-best in the 110-meter hurdles when he crossed the line in 14.77 to take sixth place. He now moves into the top-eight on the A-10 performance list. Bynum later finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles after he stopped the watch in 55.39 seconds. Lukas Valley ran a season-best 57.76 to finish 13th.

In the 800-meter open, senior Henry Griffith ran a career-best time of 1:55.82 to finish sixth. Freshmen Liam Maurillo and Anderson Patry finished inside the top-15.

Daniel Cortese and Nathan Stewart each ran personal-best times in the 1,500-meter open. Cortese finished ninth after clocking in at 4:00.30 while Stewart took 11th with a 4:01.11.

Freshman Zak Abdulahi finished eighth in the 5,000 by finishing in 16:20.21.

On the field side, Nick Masterman took third place in the javelin with his throw of 55.15 meters.

The Wildcats will next head to the Atlantic 10 Championships in Fairfax, Va. on Saturday and Sunday (May 4 & 5).
