'Cats Host Mercer Saturday; Announce Time Change

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson women's lacrosse team is home for its third-straight contest on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Mercer Bears from inside Richardson Stadium.

Saturday's match-up was originally scheduled for 3:30 p.m. but will now be played at 2 p.m. Live stats will be available at davidsonwildcats.com/coverage

ABOUT THE BEARS... Mercer's first road game of the season will take place in Davidson, as the Bears have played just one game so far. Last Saturday, Mercer fell 21-8 in its season opener to Virginia Tech, led by Kayla Soltys' three goals on five shots.

SERIES HISTORY... Saturday will be just the fourth all-time meeting between Mercer and Davidson, with the 'Cats leading the series 2-1. The two teams met last season in Macon, Ga., where Davidson handed Mercer one of its three losses on the season with a 20-14 Wildcat victory.

COLLECTING HONORS... In the first two weeks of the season, Davidson has collected three Atlantic 10 weekly honors. Brooke Ross and Jenna Skibbe have each earned Rookie of the Week nods, while Jose Lambert was named Player of the Week on Monday, Feb. 19. Through the first four games of the season, Skibbe leads the 'Cats with 15 goals, while Lambert has scored 14 points off 11 goals and three assists. 

HOT START... The 'Cats enter this weekend 3-1 overall, earning three-straight wins over Winthrop, Stetson and Coastal Carolina. Davidson's only loss came on opening day to #23 Clemson. As a team, the 'Cats rank 15th nationally in assists per game (8.0) and 18th in draw controls per game (17.00). Alanna Dumulac averages 5.00 draws per game, coming off a career-best eight draws against Coastal on Wednesday. Jenna Skibbe's 15 goals this season ranks sixth in the nation and first in the A-10 Conference.
