Lambert Leads Davidson Past Stetson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Powered by a career-high and game-best eight points from Josie Lambert, the Davidson Wildcats soared past Stetson University, 18-6, in their second-straight win on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the 'Cats improved to 2-1 while the Hatters dropped to 1-2.
An Evanston, Ill. native, Lambert matched her career high in scoring with five goals, while adding another career-best three assists to the stat sheet.
She started off the day with an unassisted goal just 23 seconds into the action, before assisting Riley Cochrane on one of her two goals of the game.
From there, Davidson stretched its lead out to a 5-0 start before Stetson's Jordyn Humphrey (3G/1A) scored the Hatters' first of the day.
After leading 6-1 through 15 minutes of work, the Wildcats settled in and went goal-for-goal against the Hatters in the second period to take a 9-4 lead into halftime.
Over the final 30 minutes of play, the 'Cats dominated on offense and outscored Stetson 9-2.
Freshman Jenna Skibbe scored four goals, while Cochrane, Sophia Passalaqua, Lauren Garcia and Allie Hartnett each added a pair.
Alanna Dumalac won a game-high five draw controls, as Davidson defenders Brynn Jones and Noelle Cegielski caused six turnovers.
Paige Doyle won her second-straight game in cage, making eight saves.
