Jacobsen Named A-10 Performer of the Week

WASHINGTON — Davidson diver Elle Jacobsen has been named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The award is the first for Jacobsen, a sophomore from Melbourne, Fla., and comes after she posted multiple event wins at the Richmond Duals over the weekend.
"She just needed to get her dives off the board," said diving coach Greg Ferrucci, noting that her front two-and-a-half tuck off the one-meter board was a highlight. "She did it, and that was all she needed to do. She was consistent, steady."
Competing against 17 other divers from Duquesne, George Mason and Richmond on Friday, Jacobsen won the 3M competition with a score of 267.30 and finished second in the 1M (250.00).
In a dual with George Mason Saturday, she swept the events, with scores of 274.85 (1M) and 267.65 (3M).
Jacobsen is the third Wildcat to earn an A-10 honor this season, following Dylan Felt (Performer) and Ginny Thorsen (Rookie), who were recognized Oct. 2.
Jacobsen and the Wildcats will return to action Saturday, Oct. 26 when they host UNC Asheville and VMI in Cannon Pool.
