
Wildcats Pick Up Exciting 66-48 Win Sunday at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. – The Davidson women's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a strong 66-48 victory over Fordham on the road Sunday afternoon.
Picking up where they left off in the wins column, the Wildcats improve their overall record to 13-3 in addition to 3-2 in the Atlantic 10. Fordham moves to 6-11 overall and 1-5 in conference action.
Three 'Cats ended the contest in double figures, led by Charlise Dunn, who tallied 20 points on a 7-of-12 performance from the floor and a 4-of-5 showing from beyond the arc.
Elle Sutphin recorded her first double-double of the year with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting an efficient 6-of-12 from the floor and 2-of-3 from 3-point range and blocking three shots.
Issy Morgan was nearly perfect at the charity stripe, missing just one of her six free throws, while totaling 12 points and a team-high four assists.
Davidson got off to an accelerated start with a 14-5 advantage to conclude the first quarter in addition to holding the Rams to 1-of-13 from the floor.
The Wildcats torched the nets from long range in the second quarter, connecting on 3-of-5 attempts while holding the Rams to 0-of-4 from three.
After playing an almost even third quarter, Davidson extended its lead to as many as 22 points over the final frame to put the game away in double-digit fashion.
The 'Cats capitalized off of Rams' miscues as they tallied 18 points off of turnovers.
Mandy McGurk and Emy Hayford led Fordham with 10 points apiece.
