Wildcats Fall at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. – The Davidson men's soccer team dropped their first Atlantic 10 match of the season at the hands of the Fordham Rams on Saturday night by the score of 2-1.
The Wildcats found themselves playing in their own defensive third for most of the first half as the Rams stacked up 12 shots to just one by Davidson. In the 13th minute, Fordham capitalized on a deflection near the box and scored to go ahead 1-0.
Davidson's deficit grew to two goals when the Rams scored again in the 59th minute.
From there, the Wildcats tried to amp up the pressure and were able to send out five shots in the final 23 minutes. Davidson's leading goal-scorer, Vincent Bennage got the visitors on the board in the 63rd minute to make it 2-1.
In the final minute, the Wildcats created a dangerous scoring opportunity that nearly tied the game. Bennage was on the attack once again as he was able to get a head on a cross from the left midfield, but his shot missed just right.
It was Davidson's first A-10 defeat of the season as they drop to 6-2-1 overall and 2-1 in league play.
