Wildcats Return Home to Host George Washington

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Coming off a pair of thrilling road victories, the Davidson lacrosse team returns home to Richardson Stadium on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. opening draw against George Washington.
The game will air on ESPN+ with Sam Goldfarb on the call.
LAST TIME OUT... Grace Fahey scored her second game-winning goal of the season on Wednesday afternoon to lift the Davidson Wildcats past VCU, 8-7, in overtime. The 'Cats led 7-6 with 25 seconds left in regulation before VCU's Juliana George scored with 21 ticks on the clock to force the extra period. After winning the opening draw, the Wildcats turned possession over to the Rams until the 4:20-mark when Caroline Moran caused a turnover and earned the ball back for Davidson. Out of a Wildcat timeout, Julianne Carey ultimately fed Fahey, who scored from inside the 8-meter arc, to win it 8-7.
THIS SEASON... The Wildcats are 8-2 overall this season, and 3-0 in Atlantic 10 play, with their two losses coming against No. 11 Duke and Cincinnati in overtime. Davidson has started off A-10 play on a three-game win streak, picking up a dominant 19-7 win against Duquesne before edging out St. Bonaventure and VCU by one goal apiece. Along with the 'Cats, UMass and reigning A-10 champions Saint Joseph's remain undefeated in league play.
ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON... The Colonials are 1-8 this season, with their lone win coming during a 12-9 victory over La Salle on March 11. Averaging 7.7 goals per game as a team, Kerry McKeever leads GW with 19 goals, 24 draw controls and 21 total points. Davidson holds the all-time series at a 6-3 advantage, having won the last three match ups against the Colonials by at least a five-goal margin.
AROUND THE HORN... As a team, the Wildcats appear in the top-10 nationally in three categories; ranking 8th in assists per game (8.11), 7th in points per game (23.22) and 5th in shot percentage (.495). Individually, senior Grace Fahey ranks 10th in total points (46) and points per game (5.11) while Erin Cooke also checks in at the top-10 in total assists with 22.
