
'Cats Sweep Weekend, Down Lees-McRae 6-1

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's tennis team picked up a weekend sweep when they defeated the Lees McRae Bobcats 6-1 on Sunday.
The Wildcats were dominant for the second straight day as they won five of the six singles matches and all three doubles matches.
In doubles, the pairing of Kavya Patel and Daniela Porges moved to 5-1 on the year with a 6-2 win in the top doubles match. Emma Heiderscheit and Franny Shea combined for a hard-fought 7-5 win in the second match, and Savanna Kollock and Linden Patterson won the third doubles match, 6-2.
Heiderscheit then competed in the top singles matchup and came out victorious, 6-2, 6-3. It was her first win in the No. 1 spot this spring.
Daniela Porges competed in the No. 2 singles spot for the first time this season and also got the win, 6-2, 6-4. Kavya Patel followed up by getting her fifth win in eight matches with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 decision in the No. 3 match.
Savanna Kollock and Linden Patterson rounded out the Davidson wins with a 6-2, 6-2 win by Kollock in the 5-spot, and a 6-4, 6-4 triumph from Patterson in the No. 6 match.
The Wildcats will look to keep their momentum going when they tale on Georgia Southern on the road next Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
