Women's Tennis Halted at Georgia Southern

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Davidson women's tennis team fell on the road to the Georgia Southern Eagles, 5-2, in non-conference action on Sunday.
The Wildcats got the doubles point over the home team with victories in the top doubles match featuring Kavya Patel and Daniela Porges, 6-2. Patel and Porges moved to 6-1 as a doubles pairing this season.
Emma Heiderscheit and Franny Shea secured the early lead for Davidson with a 7-6 victory after dominating the tie-break, 7-1. The duo is now a perfect 3-0 in the second doubles spot.
Georgia Southern made up for the lost ground by winning the top five singles matches to ultimately seal the match. Freshman Savanna Kollock picked up the lone singles win for the 'Cats with a 6-3, 6-3 decision. The win also put her at 6-3 in singles play on the season.
Davidson will play next at North Florida this Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m.
