
Women's Track & Field Primed for A-10 Indoor Championships

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's track and field team is set to compete at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships in Kingston, R.I. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Wildcats enter this weekend's championship with 21 student-athletes on the Atlantic 10 Performance list.
Sprints and Hurdles
Junior Kierra Marshall has paced the Wildcats this indoor season in both the 60-meter dash and the 200 meters. Marshall ranks fourth in the A-10 in the 200 after she broke the school record with a time of 24.70 two weeks ago. She also tied her personal-best time in the 60 with a 7.84 back in January which ranks top-15 in the conference.
Rachel Horowitz, Aleia Gisolfi-McCready, and Kate Carnevale are also inside the Atlantic 10's top-20 in the 200 meters.
The duo of Horowitz and Gisolfi-McCready have led the way for Davidson in the 400 and the 500 meters. Horowitz, a senior from Austin, Texas ranks eighth in the 400 with a time of 56.75, and Gisolfi-McReady ranks sixth in the 500 with a personal-best time of 1:15.44
In the 60-meter hurdles, Hannah Kanjian ranks 13th in the A-10 with a time of 8.99.
Middle Distance and Distance
Davidson's distance performance list is led by senior Breila Fuller. Fuller, a native of Evanston, Wyo., ranks within the top-10 in both the 800 and 1,000 meters. She ranks sixth in the 1,000 meters after posting a personal-best time of 2:51.57 in Boston back in January, and she ranks tenth in the 800 with a time of 2:13.52.
In the 3,000 meters, Frances Whitworth ranks eighth in the Atlantic 10 when she set a new PR with a time of 9:45.54 in January.
Natalie Abernathy will enter the weekend inside the top-15 in the 5,000 meters. The Tampa, Fla. native ran a time of 17:43.16 at Liberty two weeks ago.
Jumps and Multis
Coming into this weekend, senior Hannah Kanjian ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in the pentathlon. The Jupiter, Fla. native shattered the school record for most points scored with 3,529 back on February 3. Kanjian also ranks top-20 in the conference in both the high jump (15th) and long jump (20th).
Davidson also has a pair of top-10 competitors in the pole vault. Meghan Burkholder and Molly O'Brien both ranks amongst the top athletes in the Atlantic 10. Burkholder's season-best jump of 3.70 meters is the third best in the league this indoor season. O'Brien's mark of 3.40 ranks her 10th in the A-10.
Relays
Two of Davidson's relay teams are among the top-five in the Atlantic 10 coming into this year's Indoor Championships. The Wildcats' distance medley relay team consisting of Breila Fuller, Sophia Hood, Kelsey Troutman, and Frances Whitworth ran the conference's top time of 11:47.35 back on February 3 in South Carolina.
Davidson's 4x400 relay team currently sits fifth on the performance list.
