HIGH POINT, N.C. — The Davidson women's track and field team delivered a dominant performance on day one of the VertKlasse Meeting, as eight distance runners secured new personal records Thursday at Vert Stadium.
Coming off a school-record performance in the mile last weekend, freshman Ansley Prescott led the way for the Wildcats in the 1500m finishing third out of 87 competitors with a career-best time of 4:36.82.
In all, five Davidson runners finished inside the Top-10 in the event, including new personal records from Mary Shoop (4:37.68 / 6th), Ava Linnell (4:38.27 / 7th) and Gilly Shumate (4:41.21 / 9th). Elise Boyse ran a 4:37.01, just missing a new standard, while coming home fifth.
Justine Meta (18:13.20 / 7th), Camryn Quinn (18:18.64 / 9th) and Ellie Harrington (18:41.08 / 15th) were just as impressive in the 5K, each setting new personal records.
In Group B of the pole vault, sophomore Bella Cantorna put together a solid showing, placing fourth with a height of 3.51m (11-6.25).
