Laskey Sets Personal Best in Discus as ‘Cats Conclude Charlotte Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Davidson's Summer Laskey delivered a strong performance in the final regular-season tune-up, setting a new personal record in the discus as the women's track and field team concluded competition at the Charlotte Invite Saturday afternoon.
Laskey's career-best mark of 42.29 meters earned her a 9th-place finish out of 29 athletes.
Joining Laskey with a top performance was freshman Daphne Flerl, who recorded a new season-best in the long jump with a mark of 5.20 meters.
The Wildcats now shift their focus to the 2026 Atlantic 10 Track and Field Championships. The team will travel to Fairfax, Va., for the conference meet, hosted by George Mason May 2-3.
