Davidson Adds Lynchburg to December Slate

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson men's basketball team has added another game to its upcoming December homestand, welcoming University of Lynchburg to Belk Arena on Saturday, Dec. 16.
The 'Cats will take on the Hornets at 3 p.m. on McKillop Court, with the game broadcast on ESPN+ in addition to coverage on the Davidson Radio Network.
"Each year presents different challenges and opportunities in putting together a non-conference schedule," said head coach Matt McKillop. "We put together what I believe to be the most challenging schedule of any program in our league, but months of those efforts left us unable to find a team to agree to play us at home on December 16 – a date immediately following our first semester exams."
Originally, the Wildcats had no match ups scheduled between a pair of home games against Miami (Ohio) on Dec. 9 and USC Upstate on Dec. 21. This now gives Davidson 13 non-conference games in addition to its 18 Atlantic 10 contests.
"We released our schedule knowing we could leave this date open and continue to pursue any options that would allow us to play another game at home," McKillop noted. "Adding this game is a great opportunity for our team to compete during what would have been a 12-day break between games, while also playing the maximum number of games permitted and giving our fans another chance to see a home game in Belk Arena."
