DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson women's basketball team will hit the road for a pair of games this week, beginning with a 6 p.m. tip off against VCU on Wednesday night from inside the Siegel Center.

From Richmond, the 'Cats will then travel to Pittsburgh for a Sunday matinee match up on CBS Sports Network with the Duquesne Dukes. For complete game coverage and schedule information, visit davidsonwildcats.com/coverage.

THE SERIES
  • Wednesday's meeting will be the 12th all-time meeting against the Rams and 'Cats.
  • VCU has won the last five meetings against the Wildcats, with Davidson's last win over the Rams coming on February 24, 2018 with a 69-63 win from inside Belk Arena.
  • A win on Wednesday would be Davidson's second-straight victory and improve the Wildcats to 2-2 in Atlantic 10 action.
LAST TIME OUT... A 13-0 run in the opening minutes of play was all it took for the Wildcats to overcome St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon, as Davidson defeated the Bonnies 73-39 in league play. Four Wildcats scored in double-figures for the third time this season, as Mallorie Haines scored a game-high and career-high 18 points, followed by Suzi-Rose Deegan who had 16 points and seven rebounds and Issy Morgan & Elle Sutphin who each recorded 12 points apiece.

HAINES' HOT HAND... Sophomore Mallorie Haines has shot the lights out recently, hitting 9-of-11 three's last week, including a 3-of-3 effort from beyond the arc at Dayton on Wednesday, Jan. 11. The Sherrills Ford product also shot 6-of-8 from the floor during her 18-point performance on Saturday against St. Bonaventure, hitting her first four three-point attempts of the day. With her effort, Haines was the first Wildcat to score six three's in a game since Katie Turner shot 6-of-9 from deep against La Salle in the first round of the A-10 Tournament in March of 2020.

ABOUT THE RAMS... VCU is coming off two straight conference victories with a 54-51 win at crosstown rival Richmond on January 11 and a 55-45 victory over George Mason on Saturday. The Rams are 5-11 overall and 2-2 in league play, led by Sarah Te-Biasu's 15.6 points per game average. VCU shoots 38.5 percent from the floor as a team and has a 2-5 record from inside the Siegel Center this season.
