Wildcats Begin Road Swing Wednesday at VCU

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson women's basketball team will hit the road for a pair of games this week, beginning with a 6 p.m. tip off against VCU on Wednesday night from inside the Siegel Center.

THE SERIES
HAINES' HOT HAND... Sophomore Mallorie Haines has shot the lights out recently, hitting 9-of-11 three's last week, including a 3-of-3 effort from beyond the arc at Dayton on Wednesday, Jan. 11. The Sherrills Ford product also shot 6-of-8 from the floor during her 18-point performance on Saturday against St. Bonaventure, hitting her first four three-point attempts of the day. With her effort, Haines was the first Wildcat to score six three's in a game since Katie Turner shot 6-of-9 from deep against La Salle in the first round of the A-10 Tournament in March of 2020.
ABOUT THE RAMS... VCU is coming off two straight conference victories with a 54-51 win at crosstown rival Richmond on January 11 and a 55-45 victory over George Mason on Saturday. The Rams are 5-11 overall and 2-2 in league play, led by Sarah Te-Biasu's 15.6 points per game average. VCU shoots 38.5 percent from the floor as a team and has a 2-5 record from inside the Siegel Center this season.

THE SERIES
- Wednesday's meeting will be the 12th all-time meeting against the Rams and 'Cats.
- VCU has won the last five meetings against the Wildcats, with Davidson's last win over the Rams coming on February 24, 2018 with a 69-63 win from inside Belk Arena.
- A win on Wednesday would be Davidson's second-straight victory and improve the Wildcats to 2-2 in Atlantic 10 action.
