Atlantic 10 Releases Women's Basketball Schedules

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A rivalry matchup bookends the Davidson women's basketball 2022-23 league schedule, the Wildcats learned Thursday when the Atlantic 10 Conference unveiled its 16-game schedule.
The 'Cats will begin and end the conference season with rival Fordham while also meeting Richmond for a home-and-home series this year. Davidson's 2022-23 campaign will also feature two national television appearances on CBSSN, against the Fordham Rams (Jan. 1) and Duquesne Dukes (Jan. 22).
"As always, the Atlantic 10 is one of the best conferences in the country, filled with very competitive programs, and this year is no different," said head coach Gayle Fulks, who enters her sixth season. "In addition, the opportunity to showcase our program on national television on New Year's Day against Fordham and again against Duquesne is very exciting."
After the New Year's Day match up in the Bronx, Davidson will return home to Belk Arena for a pair of contests against La Salle (Jan. 5) and Richmond (Jan. 8). The Wildcats will close out January with road trips to Dayton (Jan. 11), VCU (Jan. 18), Duquesne (Jan. 22) and George Mason (Jan. 28) while hosting St. Bonaventure and Saint Louis on Jan. 14 and 25, respectively.
The second half of the season features four home games for the 'Cats, with Rhode Island (Feb. 4), league-newcomer Loyola Chicago (Feb. 8), Saint Joseph's (Feb. 15) and Fordham (Feb. 25) paying a visit to Davidson. Additionally, the 'Cats will hit the road for games at Richmond (Feb. 12), reigning A-10 champs UMass (Feb. 19) and George Washington (Feb. 22) before the Atlantic 10 Championship returns to Wilmington, Dela., from March 1-5 at CHASE Fieldhouse.
Last season, the Wildcats ended the year with an 18-15 overall record, marking the most wins in a single season since 2012-13 and the most in Fulks' tenure.
