WASHINGTON, D.C. - Davidson's singles play gave the 'Cats just what they needed to earn a 4-3 advantage and win over George Washington on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats improve to 10-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
"Today was a fun and great day for the Wildcats," head coach Susanne Depka said. "The team worked hard to get back to where they were at the beginning of the season. We believed and trusted in the process, played free and didn't over think.
"We handled pressure situations well and kept going for it. I know what they are capable of and believe in them so much.
I am excited for another day tomorrow against George Mason!"
Despite the duo of seniors Mira Gladstone and Elizabeth Truluck earning a 6-3 win in doubles, Davidson dropped the overall doubles point. The 'Cats dropped singles matches on courts No. 1 and 2 but Emma Heiderscheit, Franny Shea, Gladstone and Daniela Porges all came through in dominating two-set victories to clinch the match for Davidson. The overall team score was set at 3-3 before Porges clinched the match with her 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 win.

The 'Cats continue the road swing into Sunday when they face George Mason in Fairfax, VA at 1 pm.
