GENEVA, Ohio — Shelby Stanley turned in another winning and record-setting performance and freshman diver Annica Valmassei took gold as well Friday night to lead the Davidson women on the third day of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships at SPIRE Institute.
Last year's A-10 Most Outstanding Performer, Stanley continued her push for a second straight league honor by winning the 100 fly in an A-10, pool- and school-record time of 52.94. It's the second straight day Stanley has earned those marks, following her victory in the 200 IM Thursday.
Valmassei, meanwhile, shined in the 3M competition, earning the win with 262.50 points after earning the third seed in prelims. She accomplished the feat two years after her older brother, Daniel, won the men's 1M A-10 title.
Stanley also joined teammates Julia Goodhead, Anna Newman and Abby Francis on the 400 medley relay, which placed fourth and set a new school mark in 3:41.53.
In the 100 breast, Francis took fourth (1:02.03), while Newman was seventh (1:02.74).
Siena Senn added a seventh-place finish in the 200 free (1:49.66), and Chalé Jacks was eighth in the 100 fly (1:49.66).
Davidson is fourth in the team standings, with George Washington out front.
