HAMPTON, Va. — Davidson's Dylan Felt captured another gold medal and punched his ticket for next month's NCAA Championships while leading the Wildcats Friday on the third day of the Atlantic 10 Championships at the Hampton AquaPlex.
With his win in the 200 free and an NCAA-qualifying time of 1:33.46, Felt became the first Wildcat to qualify for NCAAs since Elise Lankiewicz in 2017.
It's the second gold medal of his senior season's meet, the ninth of his career and his second straight in the 200 free.
Also Friday, Felt swam on the Wildcats' fifth-place 400 medley relay team with Liam McDonough, Max Boylan and Zain Butt (3:16.08).
The Wildcats' other two A finalists Friday took eighth in their respective events, McDonough in the 100 back (48.95) and Matthew Shnowske in the 200 free (1:39.53). Fletcher Smith won the 200 free B final.
One of Davidson's top moments came during prelims, when Ryan Shute won a swim-off in the 400 IM to secure the final spot in the night session, giving the Wildcats five swimmers in the event's B final.
For the Davidson women, a sixth-place finish in the 400 medley relay led the way, as Ann Thompson, Maggie McCabe, Sophia Parker and McKenna Smith swam in 3:45.04.
Thompson had the women's top individual performance, winning the 100 back B final.
