WILMINGTON — Davidson diver Elle Jacobsen won the women's one-meter competition at UNCW's Seahawk Invitational on Saturday and earned her NCAA Zones cut in the process.
Jacobsen prevailed with a finals score of 274.50 after qualifying third among 17 divers in the prelims.
Davidson diving coach Greg Ferrucci said Jacobsen was "super steady" in prelims, but missed her back one-and-a-half pike and front two-and-a-half tuck a little.
"She told me before the final that wanted to redeem herself on those two dives, and that is exactly what she did," said Ferrucci.
Also for the Wildcats, Laurel Coppedge reached the women's 1M final, placing seventh (221.85).
