HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The Wildcats dropped their second-straight decision on Saturday afternoon, after falling in seven straight matches to the James Madison Dukes.
Davidson dropped to 3-6 overall on the season and 1-8 in the all-time series against the Dukes, while JMU claimed all three doubles matches and triumphed in all six singles matches.
"We played a quality opponent and even though the score doesn't show it we were in every match and every point," said Head Coach Susanne Depka. "We were in long points and able to be in control of a lot of them, we just missed on execution when in offense. It's definitely positive, as this is a good step going forward. If we can focus on the simple things and focus on some areas in practice, those will turn in our favor because we will be making those shots. I look forward to getting on the practice court next week to work on these areas."
Nicole Krykanov and Josie Schaffer fell just 6-4 on court one in their respective doubles match, while Mira Gladstone and Franny Shea led early from court two before falling 6-2.
On the singles side, Krykanov and Alyssa Hahn forced tiebreaker sets, from courts two and six respectively, before ultimately falling in two.
Davidson will look to bounce back next Friday for its second A-10 match this season, as the 'Cats will take on the Saint Joseph's Hawks in Philadelphia.
