- This will be the first meeting between Davidson and UNCG in the Gayle Fulks era.
- A win on Saturday would be Davidson's second consecutive win, be Head Coach Gayle Fulks' first win over UNCG, be Davidson's 22nd win over the Spartans and be the Wildcats' seventh straight win over UNCG dating back to 2011.
LAST TIME OUT... Elle Sutphin scored a team-high 18 points and Sarah Konstans added a double-double to lead Davidson past Appalachian State 66-48 Wednesday in the Wildcats' annual Education Day women's basketball game. It was the sixth win in seven games for the Wildcats, who improved to 6-3 with the win over their former Southern Conference rivals and did so in front of 1,321 fans, many of them local school children.
HOMETOWN HEROES... The 'Cats have had three straight winning seasons at home (8-5, 10-6, 5-4) in 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21, and have averaged 69.2 points per game inside Belk Arena during that three-year stretch.
THE ROOKIE... Davidson's rookie Issy Morgan has been the story so far this season for the 'Cats, as she won back-to-back A-10 Rookie of the Week honors, averaging 9.9 points per game through nine games. The Australia native is shooting 52.6 percent from the field, which ranks among the top-6 in the Atlantic 10 Conference and has been a force off the bench for the Wildcats. Against App State earlier this week, Morgan scored eight consecutive points for Davidson to push the 'Cats past the Mountaineers for the second-straight year.
CONSTANT AS KONSTANS... Senior captain Sarah Konstans is a steady hand for the Wildcats, as the Texas native averages a team-best 5.7 rebounds per game to pair with 6.4 points. Against App on Wednesday, the guard/forward recorded the third double-double of her career (11 points, 11 rebounds).
NOTABLES... Redshirt-sophomore Elle Sutphin currently ranks 49th nationally in field goal percentage (54.3%). Davidson ranks 53rd nationally in free throw percentage (75.5%).
