• Gudmundsson (14.4), Luka Brajkovic (10.3) Carter Collins (10.0) and are also averaging double figures for the Wildcats.
• Since joining the league in 2014-15, the 'Cats are 68-39 in A-10 regular season contests and 77-44 including A-10 tournament play.
GET BETTER EVERY DAY
• One of the Wildcats' philosophies is to get better every day, and Davidson has seen the fruits of that labor at the end of the year.
• Since 2003-04, the Wildcats own a 103-29 record in the month of February.
• Davidson is 47-27 in March during that time.
LAST TIME OUT
• Richmond broke open a tie game with a 20-6 run down the stretch to get by Davidson, 80-63, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Tuesday evening inside the Robins Center.
• Deadlocked 55-55 with 8:02 remaining, Richmond grabbed control with its game-changing streak, which included four 3-pointers from Nick Sherod, who paced the Spiders with 19 points.
• Kellan Grady and Jon Axel Gudmundsson led the way for Davidson with 21 and 18 points, respectively, while grabbing 5 rebounds each.
• The Spiders shot 51.7 percent after intermission to finish at 49.1 percent, while the 'Cats concluded with a 41.2 percent clip. After not hitting a first-half three, Richmond connected on 8-of-15 in the final stanza.
• The Wildcats could not have scripted a better start, connecting on their first five shots, including three triples, to take the early 13-4 advantage. The margin grew to 10 on separate occasions in the opening 20 minutes before the Spiders went on a 13-2 spurt to grab their first lead, 22-21.
• The two teams traded buckets over the next eight minutes before Carter Collins hit a shot from just inside the half-court line at the buzzer to put Davidson up 34-30 at the half.
• Sherod was joined in double figures by Blake Francis (18), Grant Golden (15) and Nathan Cayo (11).
• Playing in his first game since Feb. 14, Mike Jones hit a 3-pointer on the 'Cats' first possession of the second half to put his club up, 37-30. Richmond responded again, this time with 10 of the next 13 points to knot things at 40-40.
LAST TIME VS. VCU (2/7/20)
• Kellan Grady scored a game-high 27 points, and Hyunjung Lee posted the first 20-point game of his career, but it wasn't enough as Davidson fell 73-62 to VCU in the Siegel Center on February 7, 2020.
• The Wildcats overcame a rough start against the Rams' pressure defense and trimmed a 20-point deficit to seven in the second half. But VCU kept the Wildcats at bay by converting all 19 of their free-throw attempts.
• Davidson committed 21 turnovers against the Rams' pressure defense, including 16 in the first half as the Wildcats were held to 28.6 percent shooting in the opening 20 minutes and trailed 35-20 at the break.
• In all, VCU scored 23 points off Davidson miscues.
• Grady scored 11 straight points and 15 of 17 to cut the Rams' lead to 63-56 on a 3-pointer from the right wing with 4:08 to play. But the Wildcats could get no closer.
• Lee provided all nine points of a 9-2 second-half run and 14 of 16 in a second-half stretch to exceed his previous high of 19 points at Loyola-Chicago in December.
• VCU scored 15 of the game's first 17 points before the Wildcats cut the deficit to 15-14 with a 12-0 run of their own that spanned just 1:54 and included six points from Lee and five from Grady. The Rams' lead peaked at 45-25 with 15:26 to play.
