DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson looks to close out the regular season this Saturday with some winning momentum for next week's Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship when it hosts VCU Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day inside John M. Belk Arena.

The Wildcats (15-13, 8-7 A-10) have assured themselves of hosting the first round next Tuesday and now will be playing for a seeding position on Saturday. The Rams (17-11, 12-3 A-10) sit in second place in the league standings and will be getting a bye into the quarterfinals next weekend.

SENIOR CLASS- 2020
Prior to the game, senior Ally Welling will be honored for her four-year career with the program during a senior day ceremony with family and friends on the court.

QUICK HITS ...
•Davidson is in its 41st season and has collected 465 wins in program history.
•The 'Cats are in their sixth year in the Atlantic 10 after a 21-year run in the SoCon.
•Sarah Donovan (1st) and Katie Turner (2nd) were named to the league's all-preseason teams.
•Davidson was picked fifth in the A-10 preseason poll after a tie for fourth place last year.

LAST TIME OUT AT LA SALLE, FEB. 26 ...
•Freshman Suzi-Rose Deegan tallied game-highs of 25 points and 15 rebounds, and combined with Cassidy Gould for 10 points in overtime to help Davidson capture a 70-61 victory Wednesday.
•The Australian duo came up big in the extra period, each scoring five points. Deegan scored the 'Cats first four points for a 62-60 lead and later Gould drilled a clutch three-pointer with 50 seconds to go to put them up 69-61.
•Davidson, which trailed by 11 in the third quarter, overcame a 55-49 deficit early in the fourth quarter and then a 58-56 deficit with 35 ticks.
•Gould finished with a season-high 15 points, and Chloe Welch scored 13, all in the second half.

ALL-TIME RECORD WATCH LIST ...
•Katie Turner continues to climb up in the Wildcats' all-time records, with her joining the 1,000-point club (1,010) vs. Saint Joseph's, Feb. 19. She also is sitting in fifth in threes (187) and third in assists (361).
•Sarah Donovan crossed the 500-rebound mark (531) and is 13 away from reaching 15th all-time.
•Ally Welling is 7th in career blocks with 87 and is 11 away from moving up a spot.

A-10 RANKINGS (as of 2/28) ...
•The 'Cats are top five in- scoring (2nd), shooting percentage (3rd/.405), made field goals (2nd/690), percentages in three-point (3rd/.326), defensive three-point (2nd/.289) and free throw (3rd/.710) and assists (4th/13.3).
•Deegan is 5th in made field goals (157) and 3rd in scoring, while ranking 5th in rebounding (7.7).
•Turner has 54 threes (6th), 1.9 threes per game (7th) and 116 assists (2nd) with a 4.1 per game (3rd).

RANDOM NOTES ...
•The Wildcats sit at 7-4 at home (17-9 the two years) and are 4-3 against A-10 opponents this year.
•Davidson is shooting 41.5 percent and averaging 69.5 points per game at home (+8.5 scoring margin).
•Deegan is averaging 16.2 points and 7.5 rebounds in 10 home games.
•Two players are scoring in double digits through 15 league games, led by Deegan (15.8 ppg/8.7 rpg) and Chloe Welch's 11.2 points per game, while Turner is at 9.5 points and has hit 26 threes.

•VCU opened the game on an 18-0 run on its way to a 48-36 win at home against George Mason Wednesday night.
•Taya Robinson scored a team-high 17 points along with six rebounds and four assists in the win.
• Danielle Hammond moved into second place all-time at VCU after tying a career-high with six blocks. She now has 169 blocks for her career.
•The Rams are 6-6 on the road, but all six wins have come against A-10 foes.
•Tera Reed paces the offense with a 15.8 points per game average and has hit 117-of-144 free throws on the season.
•VCU was picked tops in the league preseason coaches poll after winning the regular season title last year with a 13-3 A-10 mark and 24-10 overall.
•Head coach Beth O'Boyle has won over 100 games during her tenure at VCU.

ALL-TIME SERIES ...
•This is the eighth meeting between both school's women's basketball programs, with VCU holding a 5-2 lead in the series.
•VCU went on a 15-0 run in the second quarter and never looked back in taking a 61-54 win last year in Richmond.
•Sarah Donovan had 14 points and eight rebounds, and Justine Lyon had 12 points and eight boards to pace Davidson's offense.
