‘Cats Sign Three for 2020-21 Campaign

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson head coach Bob McKillop recently announced that Grant Huffman (Lakewood, Ohio), Emory Lanier (Atlanta, Ga.) and Sam Mennenga (Auckland, New Zealand) have signed with the Wildcats for the 2020-21 campaign.
"We are so pleased to have Grant, Emory and Sam joining us," McKillop commented. "They check so many boxes as scholar-athletes. Their skills, basketball IQ's and versatility make them perfect fits for our program."
Grant Huffman
6-3 | 175 | Guard
Lakewood, Ohio | St. Edward's High School
Led the Eagles to a No. 1 ranking in the Cleveland Boys Basketball Top-25 in 2019-20… Helped St. Edward's to the State semifinals as a junior… Averaged 14.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game in 2018-19.
Emory Lanier
6-3 | 180 | Guard
Atlanta, Ga. | Woodward Academy
A two-time all-region and all-district performer… Also selected all-state as a junior at the Webb School of Knoxville… Led team to state championship in 2019… Member of the Knoxville Area Urban League National Achievers Society… Father Rob is the head men's basketball coach at Georgia State.
Sam Mennenga
6-9 | 220 | Forward
Auckland, New Zealand | Westlake Boys High School
Note: Enrolled Spring of 2020 semester at Davidson College… Currently practicing with the team and red-shirting this semester.
Represented New Zealand at the 19U World Championships in Greece… Named to the Basketball Without Borders Global all-star team over NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte (Feb. 2019)… Selected to play for the NBA Academy Select team at the 2019 NBA Academy Games in Atlanta.
