LYNCHBURG, Va. — Davidson coach Chris Willis viewed Sunday's match at Liberty as a measuring stick of sorts.
The Flames aren't in the Atlantic 10, but Sunday's 3-0 winners gave the Wildcats a sampling of that level of play on the final day of the Liberty Invitational.
"Liberty is similar to the top teams in the A-10," said Willis. "This match gave us a good barometer of things we need to improve in our gym. We'll be more intentional about the tempo and effort we work with this week. I'm looking forward to the progress we make this week."
Playing its sixth match away from campus, Davidson (2-4) was led by Madeline Wynn, Remi Lehnertz, Sydney Champaigne and Alison Jennings, who had four kills apiece. Champaigne added 17 assists, and Josie Treadwell had 17 digs while Ellie Crosley led the team with three blocks.
Wynn, a freshman from Savannah, Ga., was named to the all-tournament team as the top middle blocker.
Davidson went 1-2 at Liberty, also including Saturday's 3-2 win over Elon and a 3-1 loss to Virginia Tech.
