DAVIDSON, N.C. – As the Davidson volleyball program continues to build its strong culture, head coach Chris Willis announced the signings of four scholar-athletes to the 2026 roster.
Angelique "Geli" St. Laurent (Right Side Hitter / Flower Mound, Texas)
"Geli will fit into our offense seamlessly," said Coach Willis. "She has a terminal arm from both pins and puts up a big block on the right. Her infectious smile and spirit is what sold me on wanting her as a part of our program."
St. Laurent went to Flower Mound High School. She was the 2025 5-6A Hitter of the Year and named a First Team All-District selection. Geli was an AVCA Phenom from 2022-24. In the classroom, St. Laurent was an Academic All-District selection from 2021-25.
Abbie Henson (Outside Hitter / Valparaiso, Ind.)
"Abbie has the length we're looking for on the outside," said Coach Willis. "She has tremendous range with her arm which will help her score in the A10. I can't wait to get her in the gym and watch her develop."
Abbie attended Valparaiso High School and also competed for Michio Chicago Volleyball Academy. She has been playing volleyball for nine years. Henson was coached by Brian Zofkie and Carrie Berry at Michio Chicago Volleyball Academy. She was a 2024 USAV National Tournament All-American, IHSVCA All-Star Nominee 2024, high school varsity team captain and MVP in 2024, and named to 2024 Chicago Post Tribune All Area 2nd Team. Henson was also invited to 2024 and 2025 Under Armour Next Camp.
Peyton Garrick (DS/Libero / Naples, Fla.)
"Peyton is an outstanding defender and serve receive passer," said Coach Willis. "She is also an amazing athlete who has great speed and pursuit on the ball. She will build on our tradition of great liberos."
Peyton attended First Baptist Academy. She was a varsity volleyball captain from 2022-25 and a club volleyball captain from 2019-25. In addition to volleyball, Garrick ran hurdles in track on varsity and played varsity tennis. Garrick made an impact outside of sports as well. She was the president of national honors society.
Garrick recorded 1,193 digs, 600 kills, and 196 assists while in high school.
Myla Young (Middle Blocker / Brooklyn, N.Y.)
"In my opinion, Myla was under-recruited out of high school," said Coach Willis. "She's a tremendous athlete with a high IQ as a middle blocker. She may appear under-sized, but I have no doubt she will be able to score at our level."
Myla attended Poly Prep Country Day. She played varsity volleyball four all four years and played varsity basketball for two years. In volleyball, Young was a first-team all-league selection three times and a varsity captain twice. Myla won the NYSAIS Championship twice and captured the Ivy Prep League Championship three times.
