DAVIDSON — A trio of Wildcats combined for 28 kills to lead the Davidson volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Presbyterian at Belk Arena Friday night.
The 25-20, 25-15, 25-17 win came in the Wildcats' home opener and on the first day of the four-team Davidson Invitational.
"Our goal was to run a lot of our offense out of the middle of the court, and we were pretty successful in doing that," said Davidson coach Chris Willis. "I was proud of our team executing the game plan."
Hattie Rodriguez led the way with 11 kills, while Madeline Wynn had nine and Alison Jennings had eight. Wynn, a freshman, hit .692 and had a team-best five blocks.
"We had to make some adjustments in blocking after the first set," said Willis. "Our players responded and we were able to score some points at the net blocking."
The Wildcats added 10 service aces, led by Elise Edman's four, and Sydney Champaigne led the team with 30 assists and 11 digs.
"Sydney ran a great offense tonight," said Willis.
