DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson begins its quest for the program's first title in the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship when it opens the first round home against Saint Bonaventure Tuesday night at 7 p.m. inside John M. Belk Arena.

The Wildcats (16-13, 10-6 A-10) earned the 5th seed, their highest finish since joining the A-10 in 2014-15, and the chance to host their first game in the first round since the A-10 went to campus sites for the championship two years ago.

The Bonnies (8-21, 5-11 A-10) are the 12th seed and enter the game having dropped their final three A-10 games against George Washington, La Salle and Duquesne.

Game Day Features
For Tuesday night's game, the Brickhouse Above The Rim Bar and Concourse will be open serving NoDa Beers and Wine for fans 21 and older. Dominos and Ben & Jerry's will also be open in the Concourse. In addition, the first 200 Fans will receive a FREE Rally Towel.

Opening Tip ...
•Davidson is in its 40th season and has collected 449 wins in program history.
•The 'Cats are in their fifth year in the Atlantic 10 after a 21-year run in the SoCon.
•Davidson was picked 11th in the A-10 preseason poll, while Justine Lyon was all-second team.
•10 letterwinners return and three starters from a year ago, while three freshmen were added.
•Head coach Gayle Coats Fulks is in her second year (28-31) and has a 2-0 record vs. the Bonnies.

Last Game Out at VCU, March 2 ...
•VCU used an early 15-0 run in the second quarter and Davidson was forced to play catchup from there on before falling in its regular-season finale on the road, 61-54, Saturday.
•The Wildcats opened with a 13-11 lead after quarter one and were up 15-11 with the first bucket of the second quarter. The Rams answered with their 15-0 run to go up 26-15 in the second quarter and led by as many 15 the rest of the way.
•Davidson got within five, 59-54, with 9.4 seconds left, but VCU hit two more free throws and the 'Cats turned the ball over on their only possession in that time frame.
Sarah Donovan paced the offense with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Justine Lyon dropped in 12 points and also hauled in eight boards. Ally Welling also had eight rebounds.

A-10 Tournament History ...
•This is Davidson's fifth year in the A-10 Tournament and it is 0-4 all-time.
•Last year the Wildcats fell in the first round at Richmond, 62-53.
•Prior to joining the A-10 in 2014-15, the 'Cats went 16-21 all-time in the SoCon Tournament, reaching the championship game three times.

Wildcat All-Time Record Watch ...
Justine Lyon became the 20th player in program history to reach 1,000 points last year and currently sits in 6th place all-time with 1,395. The senior also ranks in several other top-15 categories including: field goals/free throws made (9th, 510/5th, 282) and three-pointers (13th, 93).
Kianna Speight has 130 career three-pointers for 9th-most all-time, while Katie Turner sits right behind her with 129 career three-pointers. Turner is also in the top-15 in assists with 233 (15th).

Random Notes ...
•Davidson's 16 wins this year are the most since collecting 16 during the 2013-14 campaign.
•The Wildcats' 10 A-10 wins were a program best and the most league wins since 11 in 2013-14.
Sarah Donovan has 11 double-doubles this season to give her 14 on her career list.
•It is the most double-doubles since Mackenzie Latt recorded 11 as a freshman in 2014-15.
•Donovan is averaging 13.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and shooting 47.2 percent in league games.
•The sophomore is averaging a near double-double the last seven games (14.0 ppg & 9.8 rpg).
•Donovan has led the team in rebounding 19 times, with 13 double-digit rebounding games.
Katie Turner's 126 assists and Kianna Speights' 64 threes rank in the top-10 single-season records.
•The Wildcats are 9-4 at home this year (5-3 vs. A-10), matching last year's win total.
•They are averaging 69.1 points at home, while the opposition is shooting just 34.1 percent and averaging just 60.8 points.
•23 of the 29 games this year has seen Davidson pull in 10 or more offensive rebounds.
•Four times they have had 50-plus rebounds overall and five times with 20-plus offensive boards.
•Davidson has had at least three double-digit scorers in 24 of the 29 games this year.
•Davidson has a single season-best 195 made three-pointers, breaking the 180 set during 2007-08.
•The Wildcats top the A-10 as a team in points (65.8 per game) and assists (14.3), while ranking third in rebounds (39.3) and free throw percentage (.714).
•Donovan paces the league with her 9.1 rebounds a game, while ranking in the top-10 in points (10th, 13.0) and field goal percentage (6th, .446).
•Turner is tops in assist/turnover ratio (2.1) and second in assists per game (4.3).

All-Time Series vs. St. Bonaventure ...
•The Wildcats and Bonnies have played just five times, meeting this year at Davidson.
•Davidson won its second straight in the series with a 67-55 win, Feb. 9.
Katie Turner scored a season-high 22 points and the 'Cats hit 11-of-14 free throws late to pull away.

Scouting the Bonnies ...
•St. Bonaventure lost its final three regular season games, including an 80-64 setback at Duquesne last Saturday.
•Mckenna Maycock is the lone player averaging in double figures at 12.2 points per game.
•She had 11 points in the last meeting vs. the Wildcats.
•Five Bonnies have hit 20 or more three-pointers on the season, led by Maycock's 52.
•St. Bonaventure went just 4-11 on the road, with a 3-5 mark against A-10 foes.
•SBU is seeking its first tournament win in five years, having last earned a win at the 2014 A-10 Tournament.
•Head coach Jesse Fleming is in third season at the helm of the program.

A Look Ahead ...
Should Davidson win, it would advance to the quarterfinals Friday at 2 p.m. on the campus of Duquesne to face off against the winner of fourth-seeded Dayton and 13th-seeded La Salle.
