DAVIDSON, N.C. — Coming off a program-best 10 Atlantic 10 wins, Davidson earned the fifth seed and a chance to host the first round of the A-10 Championship with a matchup against 12th-seeded St. Bonaventure Tuesday, March 5, at 7 p.m.
The Wildcats, who went 9-4 at home, finished the regular season with a 16-13 record overall, the most wins since the 2013-14 campaign. Their 10 league wins were also the most since 2013-14, which was the final year the 'Cats were in the Southern Conference.
In the lone matchup during the season, Davidson took a 67-55 home victory against the Bonnies behind Katie Turner's 22 points. It is seeking the program's first A-10 Tournament win since joining the league in 2014-15.
VCU and Fordham were the league's regular season champions, finishing with idenitical 13-3 league record. They both earned byes into the quarterfinals, with VCU capturing the No. 1 seed via a head-to-head tiebreaker.
The 2019 A-10 Championship will be hosted by Duquesne, March 8-10, 2019, with the first round being held on Tuesday, March 5 at campus sites. The first-round games as well the championship quarterfinals, will be available live on ESPN+, while the semifinal games will air on CBS Sports Network. The league's title game will be televised on ESPNU.
