WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Davidson junior Makayla Binter broke her own pentathlon school record Wednesday at the Queens University Combined Events meet at JDL Fast Track.

Binter placed third of 29 competitors, earning 3356 points over the course of five events. Her previous best of 3243 was set at the same meet last year. The Rochester, N.Y., native tied her program record long jump mark of 5.45-meters (17'10.75), the second-furthest leap of the day. She was also close to her personal best in the shot put, stretching the tape out 9.98-meters (32'9).

Wildcat freshman Hazel Tankard placed sixth with 3152 points in her first ever pent. Tankard competed well in the 60-meter hurdles, stopping the clock in 9.42 seconds, good for 824 points.

Davidson returns to the track Saturday, Feb. 23 for day one of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship at the George Mason Field House.
