Charlotte Sports Properties & Davidson Sports Properties are proud to partner with OrthoCarolina to present the 2019 Battle for the Hornets' Nest on Tuesday, November 12 at 7 p.m.
This year's game, which will be played at Charlotte's Halton Arena, will be the 46th men's basketball game between the Davidson Wildcats and Charlotte 49ers. Charlotte leads the all-time series, 28-17. Led by Kellan Grady's 25 points and Jon Axel Gudmundsson's double-double
(20 pts, 10 rebs), Davidson won last year's meeting 76-56 at Belk Arena.
The Wildcats have won six against their cross-county rivals.
The Hornets' Nest series began in the 1978-79 season. Davidson won the 2018 Battle for the Hornets' Nest Trophy, 76-56, at home to mark six straight victories in the series. Following the game, representatives from OrthoCarolina will present the Hornets' Nest trophy to the winning team.
