DAVIDSON, N.C. — Making its fourth appearance in the Preseason Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament, Davidson will open play against Drexel on the road Saturday at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

The Wildcats (1-0) got their 2019-20 season started off with an impressive 66-52 home win Tuesday against Georgetown. Four players scored in double figures, led by Sarah Donovan's double-double and the 'Cats held the Hoyas to 30.8 percent shooting on the night.

QUICK HITS ...
•Davidson is in its 41st season and has collected 450 wins in program history.
•The 'Cats are in their sixth year in the Atlantic 10 after a 21-year run in the SoCon.
Sarah Donovan (1st) and Katie Turner (2nd) were named to the league's all-preseason teams.
•Davidson was picked fifth in the A-10 preseason poll after a tie for fourth place last year.
•10 letterwinners return and four starters from a year ago, while four freshmen were added.

LAST TIME OUT VS. GEORGETOWN, NOV. 5 ...
•Davidson had four players score in double figures, led by Sarah Donovan's double-double, and it held Georgetown to 30.8 percent shooting in securing a season and home-opening win, 66-52, on Tuesday.
•Donovan has 12 points and 16 rebounds, while Suzi-Rose Deegan dropped in 16 points and eight rebounds. Cassidy Gould and Adelaide Fuller scored 10 each.
•The Wildcats used a 17-6 run in the first quarter to open up a 22-10 lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 20 points in the contest.
Katie Turner filled the stat-sheet with nine points, six rebounds and five assists.

A-10 NOTES ...
•Last year, Davidson led the A-10 in points (2,112), points per game (66.0), offensive rebounds per game (13.9), and field goals made and attempted per game (24.2/62.7), while ranking second in three-pointers made and attempted per game (6.8/22.3).
Sarah Donovan outstanding sophomore season a year ago saw her rank tops in total rebounds and rebounds per game (293/9.2 rpg), while finishing third field goals made (170).
•Last year, Katie Turner was second in the assist department with a career-best 138 (4.3 per game) and was second in assist to turnover ratio (2.0).

PRESEASON WNIT ...
•This is Davidson's fourth appearance in the preseason WNIT, last appearing in 2012-13 when it faced North Carolina (L, 59-70), Northern Illinois (L, 61-64) and Kennesaw State (W, 64-54).
•The other two seasons were in 1999-00 and 2004-05 when the Wildcats fell in the first round at SW Missouri St. and at Duke.

RANDOM NOTES ...
•Davidson moved to 20-19 in home openers after Tuesday's win and 13-28 all-time in season openers.
•Davidson has won its last three straight season openers, all under coach Fulks.
Sarah Donovan's double-double was the 15th of her career, as she had 11 last year.
Suzi-Rose Deegan is the first freshman to lead the Wildcats in scoring in a season opener since Cara Reed did it in 2004-05.
•Donovan led the team in rebounding 20 times last year, with 14 double-digit rebounding games.
Katie Turner's 138 assists ranked in the top-10 single-season records.
•The Wildcats went 7-9 on the road last year.
•Davidson, which had four double-digit scorers vs. Georgetown, had at least three double-digit scorers in 27 of the 32 games last year.
•Last year, Davidson set a new single-season school mark with 216 made three-pointers,
•Davidson's 17 wins last year were the most since collecting 22 during the
2012-13 campaign.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. DREXEL ...
•This is the second meeting between both school's women's basketball programs.
•The first meeting took place during the 2000-01 season at the Big Apple Classic in New York.
•Davidson dropped an 82-73 decision to Drexel at the two-day classic.

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS ...
•Drexel opened the season with a 66-62 road win at Quinnipiac on Tuesday.
•Senior Bailey Greenberg set single-game school records for makes and attempts at the free-throw line, going 19-for-21 as she finished with 31 points, tying a career high.
•Greenberg also added 12 rebounds for a double-double, the ninth of her career and sixth on the road.
•She was the 2018-19 CAA Player of the Year a season ago after averaging 17.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
•Sophomore Maura Hendrixson hit six three-pointers in the win vs. Quinnipiac for 18 points to set new career highs in both categories.
•In the road win at Quinnipiac, Drexel avenged its season-opening home loss from a year ago to the Bobcats.
•Drexel is coming off a 24-9 season a year ago, the second-most wins in program history.
•The Dragons are ranked 10th in the first CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
•They were picked to finish second in the CAA Preseason Poll.
•Last year, Drexel earned its fifth straight postseason bid with a trip to the WNIT where it lost to Harvard in the first round.

A LOOK AHEAD ...
Should Davidson win, it would play at DePaul, which defeated Miami (OH) Friday night, on Monday, Nov. 11. If the Wildcats fall in the first round, then they would be re-grouped with the seven other teams in that situation from the first round and play the following weekend, Nov. 15-16.
