Men's Cross Country Ready for A-10 Championship Challenge

LEESBURG, Va. - The Davidson men's cross country team heads back to Oatlands Plantation for the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship hosted George Mason University.

SEASON REWIND
Preseason favorite, La Salle, enters the meet ranked ninth in the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Region, while Saint Joseph's (10th) and Duquesne (15th) also landed among the region's top teams.
2018 A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
Dylan Carmack '19 led Davidson for the second consecutive A-10 Championship. Following Carmack were a pack of freshmen 'Cats – Trent Turbyfill, Colin Ross, Coleman Mitchell and Max Pearson.

SEASON REWIND
- The Wildcats enter championship season with four meets under their belt.
- Sophomore Colin Ross led the way in the first two races of the year, taking 18th over 6,000-meters at the season-opening adidas XC Challenge and 48th in a competitive field at the Greater Louisville Classic.
- Fellow second-year competitor, Max Pearson, stepped up at the Princeton Invitational, taking 27th, entering the finishing chute at 24:42.0.
- Ross' time of 24:35 in Louisville and Pearson's 24:42 at Princeton made them top-10 performers all-time.
- The Wildcats spent two weeks among the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Southeast Regional Ranks, coming in at 14th and 15th the weeks of Sep. 23 and 30, respectively.
- Prior to the start of the 2019 campaign, Davidson was tabbed to finish 10th in the A-10 Preseason Coaches Poll.
- La Salle was projected to win after finishing second in 2018 behind Rookie of the Year, Ibrahim Kedir. George Mason and Saint Joseph's came in at second and third, while defending champs Dayton were tabbed fourth.
