Pearson Runs onto All-Atlantic 10 Team at XC Championship

LEESBURG, Va. – Sophomore Max Pearson earned All-Conference honors with a 10th-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship Saturday at Oatlands Plantation.
Pearson jumped nine spots over the final 3,000-meters to land on the All-Conference squad. The Hexham, U.K., native traversed the 8k course in 25:34.8.
"Max ran a beautiful race. He ran composed and moved up well and was tough as nails at the end," said Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Renny Waldron.
The Wildcats placed ninth overall, registering 232 points. La Salle claimed the team title with 53 points, followed by Saint Joseph's (99) and Fordham (107).
Davidson junior George Lewis entered the chute in a top 30 position with a time of 26:15.2. Classmates Nico Agosta (26:47.2), Trent Turbyfill (27:00.6) and Coleman Mitchell (27:02.8) rounded off the Wildcat scoring contingent.
"We have a very young team [all freshman and sophomores] and it showed today. We look forward to building upon the experience."
Davidson returns to the trails Friday, Nov. 15 at the NCAA Southeast Regionals.
