THE SERIES
Davidson trail the Eagles 6-14 all-time since the first meeting in 1999. The two have squared off every season since the inaugural matchup, a 40-0 Morehead State win at home in the 1999 season opener. Davidson won three straight from 2009-11.

LAST TIME OUT
Davidson (3-1) scored a potential game-tying touchdown with under a minute top play and was successful on a two-point conversion attempt to take a one-point lead, but Campbell drilled a 50-yard field as time expired to stun the Wildcats at Barker-Lane Stadium on Saturday, Sep. 21. Sophomore wide receiver Jalen Staples dove near the back of the end zone to haul in a Tyler Phelps pass to secure the late touchdown. Staples caught three passes for 88 yards, all on the final offensive drive. The 'Cats rushed for a season-high 413 yards led by senior Jorell's Story's career-high 117-yard performance. Junior Wesley Dugger notched his 10th career 100-yard game, churning out 108 yards on 20 carries. The defense sacked Campbell four times and held the Camels under 100 yards on the ground.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Morehead State (2-2) enters week five with a pair of dominant wins over Union (Ky.) and Kentucky Christian, and two tough losses that include then-nationally ranked No. 16 Illinois State. Averaging 34.5 points per game, Morehead State has rushed for 11 touchdowns led by Jovan Smith's four. Issaiah Aguero leads the squad with 380 yards rushing, while Landon Hurst is Eagles quarterback, Mark Pappas', favorite target, hauling in 15 receptions for 185 yards and two scores. Defensively, Beau Griego paces MSU, registering 25 tackles, 2.5 for loss, two fumble recoveries and an interception.

TAKING A STAND

The Davidson defense ranks among the tops in the FCS through four games this season. The 'Cats lead the nation in total defense (223.0 yards) and rushing defense (50.3), while they also find themselves in a familiar spot on the offensive side, third in rushing offense (329.8). In all, Davidson ranks among the FCS top 10 in seven categories.
