DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson begins its final three-game homestand by hosting Saint Joseph's Sunday in Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse action inside Richardson Stadium.
The Opening Draw Control...
Davidson (6-4, 1-1 A-10), winners of four of its last five games, will play Saint Joseph's (5-5, 1-1 A-10) Sunday at 12 p.m. inside Richardson Stadium. The Wildcats will play at George Mason Friday night before starting its final three-game homestand Sunday. They will also host Richmond and VCU, April 13 & 15, to close out their home schedule for the season.
The All-Time Series/Last Meeting vs. ...
This is the seventh meeting all-time between both schools dating back to 1994 with the Wildcats trailing 5-1. They dropped a 10-4 decision on the road last year. Saint Joseph's broke up a tied game (3-all) at halftime by scoring seven of the eight total second-half goals in the second half to pull away.

Goalie Rose Woolson is slowing climbing into the Wildcats' record books. She currently sits in sixth place in career saves with 386. She is also seventh in minutes and her current goals against average is third all-time (10.23). Last year as a junior Woolson set the program's single-season record in groundballs with 67, while her saves total (165) was sixth best.
Weekly Awards...
Feb. 27: Senior goalie Rose Woolson collected Davidson's first Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse weekly award this year when she was tabbed co-defender of the week. Woolson, who shared the award with Saint Joseph's Bridget Cerciello, won her fifth career defensive player of the week honor. She finished the week with 28 saves, six groundballs, two caused turnovers and an 8.50 goals against average between the pipes. The senior from Baltimore, Md., had a stellar week during games against Winthrop and William & Mary. Woolson started the week off by holding the Eagles to five goals and coming up with a 14-save outing to earn the win. She added a season-high four groundballs and caused one turnover. Woolson capped the week off with another 14 saves at William & Mary, helping keep the Wildcats within striking distance before they fell 12-9. She added another two groundballs and forced a turnover.
March 20: After leading Davidson to a 2-0 record last week, the duo of Jordan Wood and Rose Woolson were named the Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Player and Defender of the Week. The weekly award for Wood, who shared it with Jocelyn Donohue of George Washington, is the first of her career, while Woolson won her second defender of the week award this year and sixth for her career. The duo was outstanding last week in wins against Iona (10-8) and at Campbell (13-6) to help the Wildcats snap their three-game losing streak. Wood led the offense with seven goals on 11 shots to go with three groundballs, two caused turnovers and a draw control. A career-high six of those goals came in the victory at Campbell as she scored three in each half.
Woolson picked up her 18th and 19th career wins between the pipes by finishing with 24 saves and a 7.00 goals against average. She had a save percentage of 63.2 percent and scooped up seven groundballs for the week. The two-time defender of the week registered 10 saves at home vs. Iona and then stopped 14 shots on the road at Campbell, allowing just six goals which was the second fewest she has allowed this season.

DAVIDSON — Massachusetts held Davidson without a goal in the first half and halted the Wildcats' four-game win streak Saturday in a 14-4 setback.
Jordan Wood scored two of the 'Cats' four goals to give her 27 on the season and added an assist for three points. Sarah Kopp and Christine Molinari netted the other two goals.
UMass went up 6-0 in the first half and headed into the break with an 8-0 lead. Davidson finally got on the board behind back-to-back goals from Wood to make it 8-2 and not even two minutes were off the clock to start the second half. It was as close as Davidson got, as UMass went on a 5-0 run to go up 13-2 before Kopp ended the scoring drought with her 14th score of the season. Both teams scored once more each in the final five minutes.
In goal, Rose Woolson had her sixth double-digit save game of the season with 10 stops. Both teams finished with 20 groundballs, while UMass had advantages of 29-18 in shots and 10-9 in draw controls. Defender Lindsay Rufolo picked team highs of three groundballs and three caused turnovers, while four other 'Cats had two groundballs each.

SAINT JOSEPH'S — The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse offense exploded for 10 first-half goals and opened the second half with six unanswered scores en route to a convincing 18-7 Atlantic 10 road win over VCU.
Freshman attackers Sam McGee (4g, 1a) and Stephanie Kelly (3g, 1a) combined for seven goals while junior midfielder Rebecca Lane went for two goals and four helpers, the fourth of which broke the SJU program record for career assists as Lane reached 73 for her career.
For the game, Saint Joseph's held a 29-25 edge in shots, including a 19-12 advantage in a first half in which the Hawks scored on 52.6 percent of their shots. SJU also owned a 22-17 edge in ground balls while the Rams earned a 14-12 advantage from the circle.
Graduate student goalkeeper Liz O'Sullivan (5-5, 1-1 A-10) made nine saves vs. four goals allowed in 42:54 of work to earn the first Atlantic 10 conference victory of her collegiate career.
