DAVIDSON, N.C. —
The Davidson women's lacrosse team wraps up a three-game homestand Wednesday night when they play host to Iona inside Richardson Stadium.

The Opening Draw Control...
Coming off its second straight one-goal defeat, Davidson (2-3, 0-0 A-10) seeks to snap a three-game skid Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. by playing Iona. The Wildcats, who are 1-2 at home so far this season, have had tough home defeats of 13-12 and 10-9 the last two games against Mercer and Colgate.

The All-Time Series/Last Meeting...
This is the third meeting all-time, with Davidson having won the first two matchups. The two schools have not met since the 2006 season when the Wildcats scored a 19-15 win on the road. The year before, they netted an 18-11 victory at home.

Record Watch...
Goalie Rose Woolson is slowing climbing into the Wildcats' record books. She moved into seventh in saves entering the season, sitting at 280. She is also in the top-eight in minutes and her current goals against average is third all-time (10.57). Last year she set the program's single season record in groundballs with 67, while her saves total (165) was sixth best.

Weekly Awards...
Feb. 27: Senior goalie Rose Woolson collected Davidson's first Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse weekly award this year when she was tabbed co-defender of the week. Woolson, who shared the award with Saint Joseph's Bridget Cerciello, won her fifth career defensive player of the week honor. She finished the week with 28 saves, six groundballs, two caused turnovers and an 8.50 goals against average between the pipes. The senior from Baltimore, Md., had a stellar week during games against Winthrop and William & Mary. Woolson started the week off by holding the Eagles to five goals and coming up with a 14-save outing to earn the win. She added a season-high four groundballs and caused one turnover. Woolson capped the week off with another 14 saves at William & Mary, helping keep the Wildcats within striking distance before they fell 12-9. She added another two groundballs and forced a turnover.


Last Time Out...
DAVIDSON — Colgate used a late second half run and Davidson had two costly turnovers in the final 2:30 of the game, falling 10-9 Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats led 8-5 early in the second half, but saw the Raiders run off a 5-0 spurt go to up 10-8 to go up. The 'Cats, who closed within one goal after a score by Shayne Antolini at the 2:56 mark, had turnovers at 2:29 and seven seconds in their attempt to force overtime. The final turnover was on a charging call as Sarah Kopp made a move and was driving into the circle looking for a shot.

Christine Molinari and Olivia Carey tied for team high honors with three points each on two goals and an assist. Jordan Wood and Shayne Antolini had two goals of their own, while Sophia Sgroi earned two points on a goal and an assist.

Goalie Rose Woolson again had a solid day between the pipes, finish with a career-high 19 saves to go with four groundballs.

Last Time Out..
IONA—     The Gaels controlled play from start to finish on the road last Sunday, rolling to an 11-6 win over Furman. Senior Kaitlyn Becker netted a career-high three goals on five shots and caused two turnovers. Jenna Tolzmann, Emma Hager and Christine Gironda each found the back of the net twice and Katelyn Noschese and Pamela Giordano each scored once.

The Gaels outshot Furman 32-26 and caused 12 turnovers as opposed to the Paladins' five. Iona controlled only 6-12 draws and converted on three of nine free position attempts.

Shannon McCaffrey continued her strong defensive presence, making 12 saves and grabbing one ground ball. Maureen Murphy led the team in caused turnovers with three and was followed by Becker and Erin O'Donnell who each collected a pair.
