Peyton Aldridge Named A-10 Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior Peyton Aldridge of the Davidson men's basketball team has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for games played Jan. 1-7, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
A native of Leavittsburg, Ohio, Aldridge finished the week averaging 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game, while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 88.9 percent at the charity stripe.
In Davidson's come-from-behind victory over Saint Louis, Aldridge led the way with a game-high 21 points to go along with 7 rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting.
The four-year starter capped his week with a 17-point, 7-rebound and 3-block performance in the Wildcats' 86-59 win at George Mason on Sunday.
A two-time all-conference performer, Aldridge ranks among league leaders in scoring (20.8/2nd), rebounding (6.9/10th), free-throw percentage (.836/8th) and minutes played (36.9/2nd).
This is Aldridge's sixth career weekly honor.
Winners of two straight in league play, Davidson (7-7, 2-1 A-10) returns home to Belk Arena Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip against George Washington.
