2016 A-10 Champs
The Wildcats leaned on a stable of distance runners to earn 48 points for eighth overall at the 2016 outdoor champs. Will Brewster claimed the 10,000-meter title, while he and Walker Mogen returned the following day to take second and third, respectively, in the 5k. Jacob Hostetler made the finals of both the 200 and 400-meters, taking fifth and sixth overall.

Been There Before
The Wildcats enter the conference championship with nine athletes ranking in the top-10 of the A-10 performance list. The league's indoor championship Most Outstanding Track Performer, Will Brewster, takes the top 5k time into the meet (14:11.04) and will double up in the 10,000-meters. Senior Walker Mogen will compete in the 1500-meter, while Dylan Carmack seeks points in the 10k.
Â
Young Guns
Head coach Renny Waldron boasts a core of talented underclassmen looking to make their mark. Sophomore Sean Caveney has been consistent in both hurdle events this season, seeded fourth in the110-meter and fifth in the 400-meter hurdles, respectively. Classmate Brady Logan is rounding into form at the right time. The Woodberry Forest, Va., native stretched the tape over 15-meters for the first time in his career at the Charlotte Invite, marking a shot throw of 15.56m (51'0.75) for a new personal best and the second best throw in the A-10 entering the championship. The following week Logan proved it was not a fluke, stretching the tape 15.52m (50'9) at the Duke Invitational. Also look for freshman vaulter James Davis. Davis owns the program record (4.50-meters) and has four of the top-10 best vaults in program history.Â

Coaches Comments
"We are in a great place headed into the A-10 Championship meet," said Waldron. "Our guys have been improving each week as the season has progressed and we are ready to see the work and regular season performances culminate and come to fruition in the championship meet."
