DAVIDSON, N.C. —
The Davidson women's lacrosse team will open Atlantic 10 play this weekend when they play at Saint Joseph's Friday afternoon and then return home to host George Washington on Sunday at Richardson Stadium.

The Opening Draw Control...
Davidson (2-5, 0-0 A-10) begins A-10 play at Saint Joseph's (4-4, 0-0 A-10) Friday at 3 p.m. The Wildcats will then return home to take on George Washington (1-6, 0-0 A-10) at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The All-Time Series/Last Meeting...
Davidson has a 1-4 mark against the Hawks since the first meeting in 1994. Last year saw SJU take both meetings, including ending the 'Cats' season with a 10-7 decision in the first round of the A-10 Tournament. The Wildcats saw Saint Joseph's score three goals in the first five minutes of action and were never able to recover. Annie Brockett had her fifth hat trick of the season and added an assist to match her season high with four points to pace the 'Cats. She named to the A-10 All-Tournament Team.

The series vs. the Colonials, which dates back to 2003, is in favor of GW at 7-1. Davidson did collect its first win last year in the series as the trio of Emma Sissman and Lucy Sexton along with Annie Brockett combined for eight goals and 11 points in a 10-6 Atlantic 10 road win.

Record Watch...
Goalie Rose Woolson is slowing climbing into the Wildcats' record books. She moved into the top-eight in saves, sitting at 182. She is also in the top-eight in minutes and her current goals against average is second all-time (9.57).

Senior Annie Brockett has an outside shot of getting in the top-10 in goals, sitting at 72. Erin Doherty and Emily Rademacher are tied for 10th place with 89 goals for their careers. She also has 89 career points, 25 of them this year which is six away from tying her career best set in 2016.

Weekly Awards...
Feb. 28- Senior Annie Brockett and junior Rose Woolson collected their first weekly awards of the 2017 women's lacrosse season as the duo were named the Atlantic 10 Player and Defender of the Week. Brockett earned her first career weekly honor, while Woolson earns her third career award after picking up the defender of the week twice last season. Brockett had a career week in leading Davidson to a 2-0 record in games at home against Siena and William & Mary. The senior captain had 10 goals and an assist for 11 points, while going 3-for-3 on free-position shots and adding a caused turnover. Woolson picked up two wins in goal, finishing the week with an 8.00 goals against average, 19 saves, eight groundballs and one caused turnover.

Last Time Out...
DAVIDSON — In its final non-conference women's lacrosse game before Atlantic 10 play begins, Davidson dropped a 15-7 decision on the road last Sunday to Elon.

The Phoenix used mini runs of 3-0 and 4-0 in the first half to go up 9-3. Senior Annie Brockett gave the 'Cats a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the game with her team-leading 19th goal, but Elon answered with three straight goals. Brockett then helped make it 3-2 at the 21:55 mark off an assist to Christine Molinari, but again the score was answered by Elon as they closed the half on a 6-1 run.

Brockett went on to add another goal and assist in the second half for a team-high four points on the day. Freshman Jordan Wood had a strong day with two goals, while senior Kendall Thielemann had a goal and an assist to push her point total to 11 on the season. Sarah Kopp added the final Wildcat goal.

Nicole Pettiglio had a season-high seven draw controls and added a forced turnover. Freshman Shannon Blee had four of the 'Cats 11 caused turnovers.

Last Time Out..
SAINT JOSEPH'S — Saint Joseph's junior midfielder Aly Gormley scored a career-high four goals and senior goalkeeper Amelia Deibler made 13 saves to lead the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team to a 13-8 win over Wagner last Saturday.

Nine different Hawks recorded a point in the victory, led by Gormley (4g, 1a), graduate student midfielder Mallory Grey (1g, 3a), freshman attacker Hope Anhut (3g), and senior attacker Sarah Smith (1g, 2a).

On the defensive end, Kate Payne had a career day as the junior recorded a career-high five turnovers on Wagner's offensive unit and matched a career-high four ground balls.

Last Time Out..
GW — George Washington, which opens A-10 play Friday vs. St. Bonaventure, last took on Delaware, March 18, at home and fell 13-2. Junior Jocelyn Donohue netted the only two goals for the Colonials, with assists from senior Shea Cassidy and junior Brooke Sands.

In the cage, Adele Wise recorded eight saves in 44:56 while Erin Long recorded two saves in 15:04.
