CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Davidson wrestling team heads to the 2017 Southern Conference Wrestling Championship Saturday, Match 4 at McAlister Field House on the campus of The Citadel.

About Davidson
The Wildcats enter the championship 4-14 overall and 0-7 in conference matches. Sophomore Tony Palumbo leads the squad with 12 wins. The 157-pounder went 2-4 in SoCon action. Junior Konner Pritchard came on strong late, winning three of his final five bouts at 157-pounds and ending the regular season 10-12 overall and 3-4 in conference. Pritchard is the highest ranked Wildcat, seeded fifth heading into Saturday's champs.

The 2016 Championship
Then-sophomore Dustin Runzo won two bouts and advanced as far as the consolation finals, earning fourth place in the 133-pound weight class. Palumbo and Pritchard stood out with strong efforts over stiff SoCon competition. Appalachian State
