Team captain … Placed fourth at the 2016 Arby’s Southern Conference Championship as the seventh seed … Finished 7-11 overall and 2-4 in league action … Opened the season with a win over West Liberty’s Johnathan Bodkin (Nov. 1) … Recorded his first pin of the year at Greensboro, taking down Andrew Moorefield (Nov. 12) … Scored a major decision versus Hofstra’s Marcus Begay at the Pitt Duals (Jan. 9) … Earned two hard-fought 5-3 sudden-victory decision against Chattanooga’s Cody Hill (Jan. 31) and The Citadel’s Caleb Smith (Feb. 7) … Opened the SoCon Championship with a loss to Gardner-Webb’s Tyler Ziegler, before defeating Cody Hill (Chattanooga) and Dakota Leach (SIUE) to advanced to the third-place match falling to Appalachian State’s Irvin Enriquez (March 5).
