Coming off its sixth straight postseason appearance, Davidson's 2016-17 season gets underway Saturday with its first official men's basketball practice.

-- The Wildcats return four starters from last year's team that finished 20-13 overall, 10-8 in the Atlantic 10 and advanced to the Postseason NIT.
-- Head Coach Bob McKillop is entering his 28th season at the helm.
-- The 10-time Conference Coach of the Year has won more games in Davidson and league history than any other coach thanks to an all-time mark of 516-313.
-- Entering the 2016-17 campaign, his victory total ranks 24th on the NCAA's list of Division I winningest active coaches.
-- McKillop also ranks sixth among active coaches on the NCAA's list of most seasons with their current school.
-- Davidson is led by two-time all-conference performer Jack Gibbs, who ranked sixth nationally in scoring a year ago, averaging 23.7 points per game.
-- Gibbs also ranked among league leaders in scoring (1st), assists (4th), steals (5th), 3-point field goals per game (T-6th) and free-throw percentage (7th).
-- In 2015-16, Gibbs scored at least 40 points in a game three times, 35 or more seven times and hit the 30-point mark 10 times.
-- The only player with more 40-point games in a season over the last six years is Jimmer Fredette (BYU; 2010-11).
-- The Wildcats also welcome back junior Peyton Aldridge, who averaged 15.5 points and led the team in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and free-throw percentage (.847).
