DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson swimming and diving's Elise Lankiewicz, holder of ten school records, was recently named a Scholar All-American, as announced by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The CSCAA selected a total of 853 athletes for representation, comprising all three NCAA divisions as well as junior college and NAIA programs. To be chosen, swimmers and divers must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better and recorded a "B" time standard or competed at a respective qualifying meet during the season.
Lankiewicz, an upcoming senior, was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference squad last season and earned the A-10 Most Outstanding Performer title after going undefeated at the conference championships in all three of her individual events (200, 500, 1650 freestyle), as well as taking gold in four relays. During the week, she set new league records in four events.
The Wilmington, Del., native was also named to the A-10 All-Academic team and the A-10 Most Outstanding Performer as a sophomore in the 2014-15 season.
Lankiewicz boasts a cumulative GPA above 3.60 as a biology major. She is the only female swimmer from the Atlantic 10 to be represented on the First Team, as eight others earned honorable mention status.
