'Cats to Face Clemson in First Round of Puerto Rico Tip-Off

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson will face Clemson in the opening round of the 2016 Puerto Rico Tip-Off, as announced by ESPN Thursday. The three-day, 12-game bracket tournament will be played November 17, 18 and 20 at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan.
The winner of the Wildcats' opening round matchup will advance to face the victor of the game between Xavier and Missouri.
The 2016 field will also showcase Arizona State, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma and Tulane.
Davidson will be appearing in its second Puerto Rico Tip-Off after winning two of three games in the 2010 event. The Wildcats were defeated by West Virginia in the first-round (84-70) before posting wins over Nebraska (69-67) and Western Kentucky (64-51).
The Wildcats return four starters from last year's team that finished 20-13 overall, while advancing to their sixth straight postseason appearance and 11th in the last 12 years.
Davidson's non-conference and conference schedules will be announced at a later date.
