
Davidson Mourns the Loss of Bo Brickels

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson College mourns the loss of former men's basketball coach Bo Brickels, who passed away Thursday evening.
"We are deeply saddened by the death of Bo Brickels," said Davidson head coach Bob McKillop. "He was a very special friend to our Davidson College basketball program and me personally."
In addition to serving as head coach of the Wildcats from 1974-76, Brickels led the boy's basketball program at nearby Concord High from 1986-94.
Despite just two years at Davidson, Brickels recruited one of the most prolific scorer's in school history, John Gerdy (1975-79), who ranks second behind Stephen Curry with 2,483 career points.
A graduate of Miami (Ohio) University in 1960, Brickels resided in the Town of Davidson.
