DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson's Jack Gibbs has been named to the Atlantic 10 Conference first team, as announced by the league office.
A native of Westerville, Ohio, Gibbs was also named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon.
The nation's third leading scorer at 24.8 points per game, Gibbs has scored 40 points in a game three times this season, 35 or more seven times and has hit the 30-point mark 10 times.
Named A-10 Player of the Week a league-best five times in 2015-16, Gibbs also ranks among league leaders in scoring (1st), assists (4th/4.9), steals (4th/1.9), 3-point field goals per game (5th/2.8) and free-throw percentage (6th/.843).
In addition, Gibbs was named to the Naismith Trophy 50-man early-season watch list, while twice earning National Player of the Week honors – USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week (1/19/16); Lute Olson Player of the Week (1/12/16).
This is Gibbs' second all-conference recognition as the 6-0 point guard received second-team honors last season.
