DAVIDSON, N.C. — Seven Wildcats kept their personal doubles and singles winning streaks alive in helping Davidson score a 5-2 victory at home over Campbell Friday afternoon on the Davidson Tennis Courts.

The Wildcats improved to 9-2 on the year by winning their sixth match in a row, the most since an eight-match streak during the 2007 season. The victory was also just the 'Cats' third in the series since 1992 vs. the Camels (6-4).

Campbell grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the match by taking the doubles point, battling for wins at No. 1 and 3 by scores of 7-5 and 6-3. The pair of Ally Sexton and Anna Catharine Feaster won their sixth straight together, capturing a 7-5 decision at No. 2 to improve to 7-1 on the year. The duo, who have won 24 matches together in two years, are two straight wins away from matching their longest streak.

Davidson came back strong in singles play, taking five of the six matches to earn the win. Todd recorded her team-leading ninth singles win with a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 2 to push her win streak to six in a row, a season-best.

The freshmen duo of Centenari and Scholvinck rolled to their fifth and third consecutive wins, respectively, with 6-2, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-2 victories at No. 3 and 4 singles. The pair has combined for 13 singles wins this year.

Senior Elaina Cummer won her second straight with ease, picking up a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 to run her record to 8-3, second-best on the team. It was also her 35th career win.

Giving the Wildcats their final team point was Jenna Brunner with her second win of the season. The junior needed a third set, but sealed up the win by taking a 1-6, 6-0, 7-5 decision at No. 6.

Davidson turns around and will host Elon tomorrow at 1 p.m.
