DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson won its second straight, netting its first sweep of the season with a 7-0 victory over USC-Upstate at home Saturday afternoon in women's tennis on the Davidson Tennis Courts.

The Wildcats (2-1) opened the match by earning the doubles point behind wins at No. 2 and 3. The pair of Ally Sexton and Anna Catharine Feaster won their eighth match in a row together, dating back to the end of last season, with a 6-2 win.

Megan Scholvinck and Ava Todd sealed up the team point with a 6-1 win, their first of the season.
Â
Feaster, Scholvinck and Todd then each helped Davidson to wins at the top-three singles slots, while Gabrielle Centenari, Elaina Cummer and Sarah Stein picked up wins at No. 4-6.

Feaster went to a tie-breaker in her first set at No. 1, winning it 7-3, before then blanking her Spartan opponent in the second set, 6-0. Todd split her first two sets (6-2, 2-6) and then with the match decided, won a super tie-breaker, 10-6.

The freshmen pair of Scholvinck and Centenari earned wins of 6-0, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-3, with Scholvinck scoring her first collegiate singles win.

Wrapping up the team win was Cummer and Stein at No. 5 and 6, respectively. The senior Cummer rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory, the 29th of her career, while Stein was just as dominate in a 6-2, 6-0 triumph for her first win of the year.

Davidson wraps up its weekend against former Southern Conference foe Western Carolina Sunday at 1 p.m.
